To increase the snow production capacities on the trails of its skiing terrain, the operator of Gerlos ski area (Austria, Tyrol), has contracted with MYNEIGE in order to carry out the work of the extension of its snowmaking installation.
This project will include the installation of 5500 meters of additional water system and air pipes on the ski area. This new system will be equipped with nearly 50 snowmaking shelters, for a part in full automation, and for the rest in Remote Control Production mode (simple on/off remote control).
Around 30 Rubis Evolution R10CC and 20 Rubis Evolution SR6 (single ring technology) will equip the snowmaking shelters and cover the production needs. The R10CC Evo will be driven by the YB and VAR valves. For the Rubis SR6, the water and air supply will be made through the RCV (Remote Control Valve), an on/off valve. All of these snow producers will be integrated into the Liberty control software that runs the existing installation.
In addition to the extension of the trails, the operator has also chosen to optimize some of its existing snow producers. Ten snow producers, Borax type (B12, B10 and B6) will be replaced by Rubis Evolutions.
With this extension, nearly 11 hectares of additional skiing terrain will be covered with snowmaking and ready for next season. This surface will be added to the 75 hectares of terrain already covered in Gerlos.
The first snowmaking facility was installed by MYNEIGE in the ski area of Gerlos in 1991 and since 18 extensions of the snow production installation have been made.
MYNEIGE and its team will be at the 2012 edition of the SLAO meeting, the Swedish Ski Area Association, along with Vinterteknik, the Swedish distributor of MYNEIGE snowmaking solution and products.
This year the SLAO meeting take place in AAre, the famous ski resort, from May 11th to May 12th.

After its very first public appearances under its new identity on the occasion of the professional exhibitions of the Mountain industry, Alpitec / Prowinter (Bolzano, Italy) and the SAM (Grenoble, France), MYNEIGE makes a very positive assessment; A great satisfaction both in terms of customers’ reviews on the new identity of MYNEIGE as well as on the attendance of the trade shows.
Indeed, for these major events of the industry, particularly for the SAM (Mountain Equipment Trade Show), the participation from ski area operators and mountain industry professionals was very high all along the event [15,750 visitors in 2012 compared to 13500 in 2012 for the SAM].
Over the course of this edition of SAM, MYNEIGE has welcomed many visitors on its stand, from French resorts as weel as international ski area operators. Several delegations from Eastern Europe and Russia made the trip to Grenoble to visit the trade show.

Arno Inauen, the new President of MYNEIGE, and RA Decolasse, Vice President of MYNEIGE, were able to explain the company's strategy for the coming months: the continuation of the actions of MYNEIGE as an independent entity, continuation of the innovation programs, strengthening the exploration of major export markets, etc.; There will be also synergies with the group TechnoAlpin, for Supply Chain and purchasing, in some R&D programs etc.
On the MYNEIGE stand, operators and visitors were able to discover the latest MYNEIGE, including snowmaking Mobilys MRA, and mobility solutions and remote monitoring facility via IPAD or Smartphone. The redesigned Mobilys MRA has attracted much interest from operators of snowmaking system, first through the evolution of its design (new chassis, fairing and operator’s panel), but also because of the possibility to equip the Mobilys with a Rubis Evolution R10, allowing to reach the production performance of Rubis Evo at 10 meters.
For the Mobility solutions and remote control of snowmaking systems, operators were able to experience remote monitoring via IPAD, and applications of remote control of snow producers on iPhone or Smartphone.
MYNEIGE will be at the 2012 SAM trade Show, Grenoble, FRA, under its new identity (new logo and colors) on the booth # 305. The teams of MYNEIGE are mobilized for this event and will be present to welcome ski area operators.
