Major project for Megève (Haute Savoie, Fra)!

The renowned ski resort of Megève has asked MYNEIGE, after a bidding procedure, a major project of expansion of its snowmaking facilities, in the area of Mont d'Arbois. The project which is conducted by the municipality will span over two phases. The first phase, carried out by construction companies, will focus on the construction of a water reservoir with a storage capacity of 60000m3, along with a building that will house the future machine room.

The second phase will encompass the install of the snow production equipment, with the laying of water supply pipes and air pipes on the trails of 'Madarine', 'Alpage', as well as on the beginner area and ‘Jardineige' at the bottom of the gondola of Mont d'Arbois. The trail equipment and machine room components will be installed also during this second phase.

In total, this will represent 63 snow producers, installed on 17 ha of skiing terrain. The equipment will be of the latest technology of MYNEIGE: 62 Rubis Evolution R10, R6 and one Safyr, all controlled by YB valves. Integrated into the Liberty control software, the snow producers will work in "full automation" mode. The operator will also benefit from an additional view mode of the installation on a tablet pc.

In machine room, three pumps and two air compressors will ensure the supply of resources for the snow production on the trails. The total pumping capacity of the facility will be 500m3 / h of water.

With this new facility, the operator of Megève achieves two main objectives, first to ensure optimum snow conditions on an important sector of the ski area and second to help securing the connection with the neighboring ski area of St Gervais, through the chairlift "Ideal" and the "Alpage" trail.

Megeve already has snowmaking equipment from MYNEIGE, on the Roche Brune area, installed in 1992.
